Digital Technology and Management – DigiTech for Future!
Digitalisation without future orientation? Unthinkable!
Whether artificial intelligence, Big Data, networked systems or global markets - digital technologies are changing the way companies think, work and do business. They not only influence what is produced, but also how products and services are created, procured, marketed and applied. Behind this is the transformation of entire business models - with enormous potential for innovation!
This is exactly where the Digital Technology and Management degree programme comes in. It combines technological depth with business thinking - interdisciplinary, practical and future-orientated. You will learn to understand digital technologies, use them strategically and practice them to create real innovation.
Your curriculum is as diverse as it is challenging: computer science, data science, business administration, project management, international communication - this is where future technologies meet global business expertise.
In a world that is constantly changing, you need more than just specialised knowledge. You need flexibility, creativity, implementation skills - and the courage to create something new without losing sight of the tried and tested.
And these are exactly what will get you ahead. After graduating, you will be one of the experts that companies are urgently looking for - for the digital transformation of tomorrow!
Career opportunities
With your degree in Digital Technology and Management, there are numerous career paths open to you:
You can work in
- electrical engineering and automation technology companies,
- mechanical and plant engineering,
- medical technology,
- online commerce or
- in healthcare
and get off to a flying start. You could work, for example in
- project or product management,
- technology-supported sales or after-sales service,
- purchase of digital solutions or
- strategic corporate development.
Thanks to the interdisciplinary expertise, you would be particularly in demand at organizational or industry interfaces: where you can combine technology with management, business with digitalisation. Language skills and intercultural competences also make you prepared for international markets.
Or you can go one better and gain further qualifications with a Master's degree - your possibilities are endless!
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DEGREE PROGRAMME
Instead of just talking about digitalisation, big data and globalisation, at the OTH Amberg-Weiden you will experience how such topics actually work in practice.
You will work in state-of-the-art laboratories, develop your own initial research projects where innovative teaching methods are used so you actively engage with digital technologies.
From the very first semester, you can focus on specific subjects, pursue your own ideas and gain international experience - for example at summer and winter schools in Germany and abroad or through cooperation with partner universities worldwide.
You can choose to study entirely in English or switch to German from the practical semester onwards - whatever suits you and your goals.
You will receive individual support, benefit from small groups and learn from real experts from science and business.
In short: if you study Digital Technology and Management at the OTH Amberg-Weiden, you won't get dry theory, but a practical, modern and future-oriented degree programme - perfect for anyone who really wants to make a difference in the digital world!
The presentation of the study programme summarizes these highlights and describes further details of the study programme.
Target groups
The English-taught Digital Technology and Management degree programme is internationally oriented and offers various elective options. These can be used either for improving language skills, to participate in summer or winter schools or for the development of professional or personal skills. This makes the programme very flexible and suitable for applicants with different educational backgrounds and language skills.
On the one hand, the programme is relevant for applicants who only have basic knowledge of German (level A2) and wish to expand on it.
It is equally attractive for applicants who already have German language skills at level B2 or higher or are even native speakers, since they will have the chance to study another foreign language.
STRUCTURE & DOCUMENTS
In the Digital Technology and Management degree programme, you won't have dry theory blocks, but a balanced combination of technical expertise, business know-how and intercultural skills.
In the technical part, you will acquire a solid foundation in maths, computer science and scientific methods - from statistics and object-oriented programming to databases and algorithms. Building on this, you will immerse yourself in modern digital technologies: You will deal with topics such as IoT, sensor technology, communication technology and product management and learn how innovation processes are managed throughout their entire life cycle.
The business part of your degree programme teaches you the basics of business administration with a focus on international value creation: Business Process Management, Accounting, Finance, Digital Marketing and eCommerce are just some of the modules that will prepare you for working in global companies.
You will combine technical content with soft skills and language competence interdisciplinarily. Whether in intercultural communication, in international project teams or in your own digital start-up project - you will learn how to think and act across disciplinary fields.
In the further course of your studies, you will choose your own specialisation: You will choose from a wide range of specialisation modules, gain valuable practical experience in the company and deepen your knowledge in your Bachelor's thesis.
In short: you study in an application-orientated, interdisciplinary and international way - and are thus optimally prepared for the digital professional world.
